1. The Eminence in Shadow (2022)

Just like Batman, Minoru Kagenou from the anime The Eminence in Shadow serves his city at night and keeps his identity a secret from everyone as he fights danger. However, unlike Batman, our protagonist dies, and magic emerges.

In another world, a hero was needed to keep the peace, leading to the rise of the Shadow Garden, which was started by Cid Kagenou, heir to a noble family.

With powers foreign to his world, he can gather enough members to make the organization. Cid unknowingly leads the organization until he realizes he isn’t lying to them. Having all the memories of Minoru, Cid must now use this to his advantage in this new, strange world.

Just like that of Rudeus from Jobless Reincarnation, both our heroes experience travel from their worlds to other magical worlds full of exploration and starting brand new lives with all the knowledge from their previous lives and possessing new incredible powers, not like your ordinary superhero story which makes it loved by many anime fans seeking to the extraordinary or wanting to know what happens after death.

2. Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World (2022)

‘Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World’, also called ‘Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo’ and Jobless Reincarnation, are much more similar than you think. As you must know, a harem anime is one in which many female characters surround and love the male lead character. But this particular one is much more than just that, as it has harem and Isekai themes.

Michio Kaga, our protagonist here, is a teenager obsessed with gaming until one day, he is sucked into the game, and the adventure begins when he starts conquering the game levels as he earns gradually through the game.

As the title suggests, Michio Kaga starts his own Harem and other things he can not do in high school. Isekai Meikyuu de Harem’ definitely deserves to be on the list.

Kazuya Souma is a 19-year-old boy whose life is about to change completely when suddenly he becomes the King of Ekfrieden, a kingdom in another mysterious world which involves gods.

With new and bigger responsibilities, Kazuya must resolve all the problems facing the kingdom one by one using knowledge from his previous world. Everything goes well until he finds himself in the gaming world, where he changes into Mira, a girl.

The main character, posing as the legendary Dunbalf’s student, follows King Solomon’s instructions to locate the Nine Wise Mages. While the anime is not precisely the same as “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation,” viewers seeking an isekai series that is distinct in its own right may find it appealing

5. The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody (2022)

Just like anybody else in this world, Varvatos too wanted to become the most powerful person in the whole world, but of course, with great power comes great fear. ‘The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody’ is about ‘The Demon Lord’ who, through hard work, becomes the most feared man among his people, hence being called that way.

Unfortunately, his life did not quite turn up as he expected; being isolated from people, he wanted to do all the normal things and have friends until he was later given a second chance when he was reborn three thousand years later.

Now, as Ard Meteor, Varvatos hopes he is weaker than before and tries anything to be like other ordinary people and finally experience what it feels like to have friends. Varvatos relates to Rudeus in ‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’ in one way or another as both are reincarnated with the hope of changing their lives into a better one.

Now that he is in the game, he must apply his knowledge of dating to clear the different challenging levels of the game.

7. In the Land of Leadale (2022)

‘In the Land Of Leadale’ is where to go for something interesting and unique. With a female as the lead character, this anime is full of adventures that can only be found here. It follows the life of Keina Kagami, hospitalized and in very bad shape.

8. I’m in Love with the Villainess (2023)

Like the previous one, this one also involves one character, Rei Oohashi, who is reincarnated into a gaming world. She is now called ‘Revolution’ and is the main protagonist; she also meets another character, Claire Francois, who is her biggest adversary.

Things get twisted when Rei must romance Claire instead of all the male characters in the game. ‘I’m in Love with the Villainess’ is not too closely similar to ‘Jobless Reincarnation’, but it is a hilarious isekai anime that many will enjoy.

9. So I’m a Spider, So What? (2021)

Like every other anime on the list, this is also based on the themes of reincarnation and heroes fighting the bad guys and stuff. ‘So I’m a Spider, So What?’ is just like ‘Jobless Reincarnation’; however, this time, our protagonist, a young girl, is reborn as an animal; yes, she is reincarnated as a spider.

With this wild world of creatures preying on each other and heroes fighting against the Demon King, she must now try her best to survive, given her low rank in her high school class.

10. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (2018)

The name seems too weird, but this anime is worth watching! It starts with a salaryman, who unexpectedly dies and reincarnates as a slime. However, the fun part is that the world where he gets reincarnated is full of action with swords and magic.

As every anime gives some superpowers to the main characters, he also gets a skill called “Predator.” Now, this skill is highly helpful as he can devour something, mimic the skills, and form no matter who he devoured from.

He finds a dragon called Veldora, with whom he frees and becomes friends. There are many other interesting scenes worth watching in this anime. We highly recommend you watch that time I got reincarnated as a slime!

11. The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me? (2020)

Just like the title suggests, ‘The 8th Son? Are You Kidding Me?’ is about a young boy who dies and is reincarnated into a new family as the 8th son of the family. Shingo Ichinomiya is reborn as Wendelin von Benno Baumeister, the noble Baumeister family.

Fortunately for him, he gets a pack of skills, learns to control his magical powers, and gets a teacher to guide him. Shingo relates to Rudeus from ‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’ in so many ways and gives the anime a strong trope genre and quite electric, which most fans will find interesting.

12. Knight’s & Magic (2017)

‘Knight’s & Magic’ is just like ‘Jobless Reincarnation’, except it emphasizes more on the gaming world. It focuses mainly on the lives of two siblings, Sora and Shiro, who only have one other.

With no friends to interact and play with, the duo turn to gaming to fill that void. Together, they formed a formidable gaming team they called ‘Blank’. Their lives drastically change when they are transported into the game, where they must conquer the gaming world from within.

13. Wise Man’s Grandchild (2019)

‘Wiaw Man’s Grandchild’ is a hilarious anime series about a young salaryman who dies and is reborn as a baby. He is picked up by a patriot hero, ‘Sage,’ Merlin Wolford, who adopts him and gives him the name Shin.

Under Merlin’s guidance, Shin learns many skills and gains magical powers. This anime’s storyline is very similar to ‘Jobless Reincarnation,’ and the selection of characters is as well, especially female ones like Maria and Sizilen, just like Sylphiette and Eris in Jobless Reincarnation. Another similarity is that of Shin and Rudeus.

14. By the Grace of the Gods (2020)

Just like ‘Jobless Reincarnation’ tells a story of a helpless young boy whose life is completely turned around after reincarnation, so does the life of Ryoma Takebayashi in ‘By the Grace of the Gods’.

Although the two characters, Ryoma and Rudeus, do not suffer similar deaths, both experience positive life changes after rebirth. Some gods choose Ryoma to leave his sad life and get a better job fighting for and helping people using the knowledge from his previous life plus some new powers bestowed onto him by the gods.

15. KonoSuba (2016-2017)

‘KonoSuba’ relates to ‘Jobless Reincarnation’ through their similar character developments, especially their lead characters, Rudeus and Kazuma Sato, with both characters having rather boring and sad lives previously and later getting rather favourable lives.

Another similarity between the two animes is that both characters die after being involved in a truck accident; however, their ages differ. Rudeus was 34 years old, whereas Kazuma was just a teenager. Kazuma died trying to save a girl, and he was brought back by a Goddess called Aqua, who placed him in an MMORPG world.

16. Misfit of Demon King Academy

Unlike all the other anime series on the list, this one is slightly twisted; the main character, Anos Voldigoad, is reversely incarnated, meaning he was already living a life of war and destruction and was even called a Demon King.

But after reincarnation, he is born into a peaceful world where magic is used to protect people, and everyone must go through an academy to prepare them to harness their magical powers.

Anos ends his own life to make peace between humans and demons; however, the humans start mistreating the demons, so he is forced to return to his old self, and the only way is through the Demon King academy.

17. Sword Art Online

This one is yet another complicated anime series. Those fans who love to think a lot and have a wide storyline will love it. Sword Art Online, also called ‘SAO’, just like ‘Jobless Reincarnation’, involves competition in a virtual reality game world.

Our protagonist, Kirigaya Kazuto, is trapped in a full-dive VRMMORPG, where he meets Klein and millions of other gamers. As they proceed, he later meets a badass girl called Asuna, with whom he must now try to beat the game to return to the real world.

However, they encounter many challenges throughout their adventure in the game, such as gamers who try to kill other gamers.

18. Parallel World Pharmacy

Unsurprisingly, ‘Parallel World Pharmacy’, like ‘jobless reincarnation’, also involves death and being born again. However, the character here is Kanji Yakutani, who has a strong passion for medicine and hopes to create medicine to treat people.

However, he dies, and to his amazement, he is born in a medieval world where he is blessed with a gift. Unfortunately, in his new world, only the rich can afford medicine. And Kanji takes it upon himself to solve that injustice.

19. Overlord

Like the previous one, ‘Overlord’ follows a full-dive into the MMORPG game and a very formidable guild called Ainz Ooal Gown. Although the game is very popular and has had huge success, it was set to shut down.

The lead character, Momonga, also the leader of Ainz Ooal Gown, decided to remain in the game on the day of the shutdown, wanting to experience more. Consequently, he remains in the game and must now look for other people in his new world as he battles new challenges, such as the immense power he receives in the game.

20. Saga of Tanya the Evil

‘Saga of Tanya the Evil’ is about a female character called Tanya Degurechaff, who, unlike her blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, is quite the opposite of her looks, as the title suggests. Based in CE nineteen twenty-three, when Tanya joined the Imperial Military Academy.

She is placed in the northern military district called the Norden Theater, where she trains on the third patrol line. Being in her final curriculum, she hopes to start a career as an aviation mage until things take an ugly turn. Watch the anime series to find out more.

21. Ascendance of a Bookworm

Just as the title suggests, the book lovers will love this one. Now, it is undoubtedly every bookworm’s dream to become a librarian, and so was it for avid bookworm Mutosu Urano. Imagine having unlimited time and access to books.

However, she passed on from an accident just as she received the news that she would be able to work as a librarian. Now, in a new town called Ehrentfest, she is reborn as Myne, the daughter of a poor soldier. Being strongly divided by class in this new town, Myne didn’t mind it as long as she had books until otherwise.
